Golden Fields Dandelion Coffee

Golden Fields Dandelion Coffee is made from roasted organic dandelion roots. Dandelion coffee helps combat liver problems, kidney problems and digestion problems. Dandelion is a mild natural laxative, a constipation remedy, a blood purifier, and an ideal diuretic due to its richness in minerals (it contains potassium, calcium, sodium, also phosphorous, iron, nickel, cobalt, tin, copper and zinc). Our Dandelion coffee is a popular coffee substitute. Dandelion coffee is suitable for a diabetic diet due to its inulin content.

There are three types of Dandelion Coffee: The original Dandelion (DA), the 100% Dandelion (HD) and the Dandelion CHAI (DC)

Additional Information

Golden Fields Dandelion Coffee is commercially grown on certified organic farms in New Zealand. Dandelion is a difficult plant to grow commercially - it is labour intensive process, which explains the price.

The three types of Dandelion Coffee:

(1) The original Roasted Dandelion (DA)

Ingredients: The sachets contain very finely ground dandelion root (Taraxacum officinale), lightly roasted, and some roasted barley malt (not more than 18%). The dandelion combines well with roasted malt and reduces the bitterness of the drink. Dandelion fines are difficult to handle and the roasted malt acts as a free flowing agent.

The granules are small pieces of roasted root without fines. They are made of 100% dandelion root.

(2) The 100% Dandelion (sachets only (HD))

Ingredients: Very finely ground dandelion root mixed with 7% weight of dry dandelion leaves and flowers (Taraxacum officinale). 100% refers to all the parts of the plant being used.

(3) The Dandelion CHAI (DC)

Ingredients: Finely ground dandelion root, cinnamon, cardamom, ginger, nutmeg, clove. The spices are certified organic from Indonesia. It is a truly beautiful flavour (like liquid Belgium biscuits!).

Directions:

  • Sachets: One sachet per cup, use preheated cup, pour boiling water, cover, infuse 5–10 minutes, squeeze sachet with teaspoon and stir.
  • Granules: One teaspoon loose granules per cup, or 15 grams per litre, infuse 5–10 minutes or simmer one minute.
  • For a latte (cow or soy milk), a stronger brew may be necessary.

Gluten Free

In fact all dandelion (and also burdock) beverages are gluten free. The Original Roasted Dandelion contains a small amount of roasted malt made of barley. Barley has gluten in it, but in fact gluten is not water soluble and the brew is therefore gluten free. But the sachets of 100%, of Chai, of Dandelion and Burdock and all the granules do not have anything else than the roots in them (plus spices for the chai).
