Green Smoothie Goodness!

Green smoothies look inviting and they are a great way for you to get your greens in. They are nutrient-rich and full of fibre, antioxidants and phytonutrients. 

Great for a quick breakfast and for sneaking green veges into both kids and adults!

Below is a base recipe which you can modify to suit your needs and what's in your fridge and pantry. 

Ingredients:

1C Kale or Spinach, washed

2cm fresh ginger, peeled and chopped

1 small banana, peeled and chopped

1/4 avocado, peeled and chopped

1 celery stalk or 100g cucumber, chopped

300ml cold water or coconut water

Lemon Juice to taste. 

Method:

Put all ingredients into blender and blend. Add more of your liquid of choice to achieve desired consistency. 

This Green Smoothie recipe is full of nutrient-dense vegetables, giving you the benefits of filling plant-fibre. Feel free to mix it up and alternate with other ingredients such as LSA, chia seeds, shredded coconut, pineapple, nut milk, parsley, mint and berries.
