During Level 4 Lock Down Period we we are open Monday-Friday 9am-4.30pm and closed at the weekend. At the moment for any new orders placed we please ask you only order Fresh Produce, Fruit & Vege Boxes, Flour, Yeast, Milk, Bread and Eggs which we have access to more readily, while we wait for other stock to arrive. Orders that contain any other products that are not listed above will not be sent until stock has arrived.

Gluten Free Hot Cross Buns

Nothing says Easter more than a taste of a good old Hot Cross Bun! Particularly this recipe that is Gluten Free so can be enjoyed by those who aren't able to eat gluten. 


  • 2 heaped tsp instant active yeast

  • 3 1/4 C gluten free bread mix

  • 2 C sultanas or raisins

  • 2 Tbsp butter

  • 1 3/4 C tepid water

  • 1/4 C sugar

  • 2 tsp cinnamon

  • 2 eggs

  • pinch salt

  • 2 tsp mixed spice

  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg


  • 1/2 C warm water

  • 2 Tbsp sugar

Cross Mix:

  • 1 C Gluten Free icing sugar

  • 1 tsp water

  • 2 tsp lemon juice


1. Dissolve yeast in the tepid water. 

2. Sift the gluten free bread mix and spices  together and place in a large mixing bowl. 

3. Cut in butter until a fine crumb forms. 

4. Add salt, sugar, eggs, sultanas and yeast mixture. Using an electric beater fitted with dough hooks, mix on a medium speed for 5 minutes. 

5. Using a tablespoon, place generous round mounds on a greased baking tray. Let ithem stand in a warm moist place for 45-50 minutes. 

6. Bake at 200 degrees celcius for approximately 10-12 minutes or until done. 

7. Brush with the glaze mix while still warm. 

8. Allow to cool then mix the cross mix ingredients together and pipe over each bun.
